conduit; is an experimental short film which was initially used as a live projection accompanying a choreographic work of the same name in 2016. The work details the concepts of separation of body and mind and the juxtaposition of being confined to your own thought and body. The images collate a surreal montage in which the static energy and vast array of images result in an obscured reality further perplexed through electronic glitching of the film.

conduit; was filmed in 2016 around suburban and rural areas of Western Australia, detailing large scale landscapes and fragile, detailed closeups of nature and man made structures. The short film has now been separated from the initial collaborative work of conduit; and now stands in the forefront of its existence.

The score to the film was composed by Dane Yates and features harsh beat based material detailing fragile noise and electroacoustic variations of overlaying piano gestures; further elements were created through improvisations used electromagnetic microphones, condenser feedback and no input mixing board.

Digital copy contains the score to the work as well as a digital download of the film.

SEUM is the collaborative duo of Brendan Polain and Dane Yates formed in 2015; working in both experimental music improvisation, electroacoustic performance and audiovisual works.
